Henry Butcher found guilty on an indictment for breaking into the dwelling house of John Eaton in the parish of Great Baddow on 22nd April 1774; and stealing therefrom 3 ells of dowlas (value at 3/6), a pair of men’s leather shoes (value at 6/-), a pair of buckskin breeches (valued zt 5/-), a linen waistcoat (valued at 12d), a pair of worsted stockings (valued at 2/-), a linen shirt (valued at 2/-) and 3 linen handkerchiefs (valued at 2/-).goods and chattels valued at £1.1.6d.
